Inge Schuermans

Inge Schuermans is afgestudeerd in 2006 aan de KU Leuven als master in de revalidatiewetenschappen en kinesitherapie met een specialisatie in de musculoskeletale revalidatie.

Na verschillende interims startte ze eind 2006 in een groepspraktijk in Diepenbeek. Geprikkeld door het werk van collega’s is ze in 2007 gestart aan een opleiding osteopathie aan het Flanders International College of Osteopathy (FICO) te Antwerpen. Door de combinatie van werk en studies konden de aangeleerde technieken meteen in de praktijk toegepast worden, zowel bij volwassenen als bij baby’s en kinderen. Deze studies zijn afgerond in januari 2014 door de presentatie van haar eindverhandeling; het effect van osteopathie op snurken.

Om specifieker te werken heeft ze Applied Kinesiology (AK) en neurostructurele integratie techniek (NST) gevolgd en is ze sinds begin 2014 gestart met een 6-jarige opleiding biodynamische aspecten in de osteopathie bij kinderen. Hierbuiten blijft ze up-to-date door verschillende postgraduaten te volgen & te geven. In de weekends vind je haar vaak op FICO in Antwerpen en Europa als docente biomechanica, klinisch onderzoek neurocranium en viscerale technieken.

Jöry Pauwels

Jöry startte de praktijk in 1999 als kinesitherapeut (KuLeuven, MSc). De praktijk evolueerde mee naar manuele therapie (KuLeuven, ManaMa) en osteopathie (Flanders International College of Osteopathy, DO en Dreesden International University, MSc).

Professioneel is Jöry actief in de praktijk in Mol Wezel, internationaal docent osteopathie en postgraduaat docent, co-directeur Fico Antwerpen & Warschau, secretaris generaal Van het Europees osteopathisch academisch netwerk (OsEAN), osteopaat van rugby club Laakdal en het Belgische nationale rugby team en leidt hij het stage centrum van de osteopathie school in Antwerpen.

Jöry is naast klassiek osteopaat zeer actief in de screening & behandeling van (top)sporters en zwangerschapsbegeleiding & postnatale osteopathie.

Naast zijn professionele activiteiten geniet Jöry van zijn 2 kinderen, eten & drinken, telemarking, karate (IOGKF), motorrijden, rugby (Laakdal & Kemphanen) en golf als revalidatie van voorgaande activiteiten.

Jöry zijn missie voor de toekomst bestaat uit het verder ontwikkelen en verspreiden van osteopathie en osteopathie onderwijs, de groei van osteopahy academy (osteopathieschool Fico) en een vader te zijn.

ENGLISH:

Jöry Pauwels was born in Belgium in 1976, studied physiotherapy at the Catholic University of Leuven Belgium and continued with Manual therapy and education in teaching. After that continued at Flanders International College of Osteopathy (Fico), moving on from student, to assistant, to teacher, finally becoming joint principal of Fico. Professionally Jöry is active at Fico, postgraduate courses, his private clinic, the Fico clinic and high end physical sport (osteopath Belgian national rugby and traditional karate team).

Apart from working at Fico, Jöry teaches in a number of European countries on (osteopathic) treatment concepts, education, short lever manipulation techniques of the spine & peripheral skeleton and on gynaecology & obstetrics. At university Jöry was head of 2 fraternities, captain of the rugby team, member of the educational board committee and was granted the award for sports merit.

Currently Jöry enjoys his 2 children, food & drink, telemarking (white slopes and majestic mountains), traditional karate (IOGKF), (motor)cycling, rugby (national division), Belgian weather being an added incentive and golf when recovering from previous activities.

Jöry’s mission for the future is to further the development of osteopathic teaching, the expansion of Fico and being a father.
